"But people who aren't Christians can't understand these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them because only those who have the Spirit can understand what the Spirit means." I Corinthians 2:14

Other religious books that use similar words to the Bible such as God, salvation, sin, justification, etc are not speaking about the same things as the bible. These are merely from their religious point of view and in no way should be compared to the Bible. Similarities between statements in the bible and other religions are pure coincidence and mean something totally different to that of Christianity.

It is also good to note that when someone who is not truly a Christian has to quote certain parts of the bible in order to manipulate or deceive others, careful study of that scripture should be done. What needs to be done is read the whole chapter to get the true meaning of the passage.

Another important point is to search the bible when others try to quote scriptures out of context. It is always good to read the entire scripture to get the true meaning of its context. Non-believers and critics have the habit of reading only part of a scripture to try and trap others into believing something it does not say. A person should never take anything for granted by those whose intent is to manipulate others into thinking that the bible contradicts itself.

In comparing the bible with other non-Christian scriptures, people tend to look only for the similarities and not the differences. But careful study and research must go into these books before labeling them on par to the Bible.

Another reason why some religious books may seem to be similar to the bible is the fact that they take biblical scriptures and put their own meaning to it and then pan it off as their own doctrine. They also twist the biblical scriptures to say that the bible agrees with their own beliefs.

Christians should not compromise their beliefs for that of other religions especially if they are doing so to try and bring others to Christ. It is something that the God of the bible does not tolerate.
